SUPER50 HARPY EAGLES ELIMINATED AFTER POWELL MUSCLES SCORPIONS INTO FINAL

A magnificent 105 not out of 92 balls from captain Rovman Powell led the Jamaica Scorpions to a three-wicket victory over the Guyana Harpy Eagles in the second semi-final of the CG Insurance Super50 Cup at the Sir Vivian Richards Stadium in Antigua on Thursday evening.Led by Powell, Scorpions made the imposing 319 target a bit of cake walk after Brandon King started the onslaught with 64 off 49 balls and was backed up by Alwyn Williams who made 45 along with some handy lower-order knocks which supported the rampaging Powell. Earlier, Guyana posted 318-9 in 50 overs, with Shimron Hetmyer top-scoring with 86 from 76 balls, an innings laced with eight fours and three sixes. Odean Smith claimed his maiden five-wicket haul in List-A, ending with 5-65 in nine overs. Scorpions will face Trinidad and Tobago Red Force in the final on Saturday from 14:00h.
