Night-walk to the Labaria!

As one of Guyanaโ€™s most commonly misunderstood creatures, the Bothrops atrox, or locally known as the Labaria, is found in tropical environments where they can camouflage and protect themselves from any foreign intruders. These snakes have the highest bite rate in our country, and can pose a serious threat when disturbed by invasive human activity such as mining and logging. One bite contains a hemotoxic venom that poses them as extremely dangerous predators.
We were lucky enough to follow herpetologist, Sean Rowan Laughlin (@thewildgingerbeast) on a night-walk through the Iwokrama Rainforest in search of one of these beauties!
