END TO HIV AIDS STIGMA IN GUYANA NOT UNATTAINABLE NAPS, UNAIDS DIRECTORS

Ending discrimination against HIV infected persons in Guyana is a slow process, but not unachievable.

This is according to National AIDS Programme Secretariat (NAPS) programme manager, Dr. Tariq Jagnarine and United Nations Programme on HIV/AIDS (UNAIDS) Country Director, Dr Richard Amenyah.

During a meeting to discuss HIV-related stigma and discrimination on Friday, Dr Amenyah said Guyana will have to reach the global momentum with responding to HIV/AIDS.

The Global AIDS strategy is a worldwide effort to reduce HIV infections and HIV related deaths by 2030.
