ANIMAL WELFARE OFFICER DIES BY SUICIDE AT BRICKDAM POLICE STATION

Relatives of 49-year-old Trudy DeHaarte, an animal rights activist, were plunged into mourning after she died by suicide on Monday. DeHaarte, who reportedly had domestic issues with her husband, took her life at the Brickdam Police Station in Georgetown. The animal activist community is also mourning what they described as a great loss; DeHaarte worked hard to end cruelty against animals and was very committed to improving the welfare of animals.
